Tailored opportunities: PhD scholarship, Re-evaluating Climate Adaptation Principles at Griffith University, Gold Coast, Australia


The University is known for its high impact research, outstanding student experience and its welcoming environment. It is ranked in the top 2% of Universities worldwide. The PhD position will be under Dr. Johanna Nalau, Australian Research Council DECRA fellow at the cities Research Institute, School of Environment and Sciences. The University is looking for a PhD candidate who can conduct research in climate change adaptation theory and principles. The main focus of the research is to better understand on how climate adaptation principles are used in the process of imagining alternative futures.


Applicants for this call will be selected based on their academic merit, research background in qualitative and/or quantitative research in climate change adaptation, innovation, and decision-making processes. The applicant should have completed a Bachelor’s degree with first class honors equivalent or Master’s Degree by research and intend to enroll full time. Qualitative data analysis tools such as NVivo and/or Leximancer desirable When?

The deadline for international applicants is 17 September 2019.

The annual stipend is $27,596 for three years
