Tailored Opportunities: Postdoctoral Position in Water Resources Policy at University of California-Irvine


The department of Urban Planning and Public Policy, in the school of Social Ecology seeks applicants the fill the full-time postdoctoral position in Water Resources Policy. Topics of active research include drinking water quality policy and flood risk management. Areas of particular interest for drinking water quality include evaluation of the effectiveness of federal and state regulation to ensure safe water for all. Relevant topics related to flood risk management include a national assessment of social vulnerability and disparities in post-disaster assistance.


Applicants should have a PhD in fields such as Natural Resources Management, Environmental Economics, Water Resources Engineering, Geography or other fields related to Water resources Policy. The position requires self-driven, creative thinker with strong qualitative and interpersonal skills to help accomplish and important and interesting set of research tasks. Applicants should have Excellent statistical analysis skills are preferred, including expertise in categorical data analysis using maximum likelihood estimation. Candidates should have knowledge of statistical software, such as Stata or R.
