Tailored Opportunities: Vacancy for Scientist/Senior Scientist – CCAFS Science Officer


The International Crop Research Institute for the Semi-arid Tropics (ICRISAT) seeks applications for a Scientist/Senior Scientist to serve in its ICRISAT Bamako, Mali Office. The position will contribute towards research on climate change in West Africa. Particularly on the management of risk from climate change and variability and the upscaling of climate-smart agriculture. The position is funded under the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS).


  • Applicant should be any one who hold PhD in agricultural science, environmental science, climate change or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years’ post-doctoral experience in the above-mentioned areas (ideally in an interdisciplinary environment);
  • Good skills on participatory action research and smallholder farming systems in West Africa, climate related risks, and the use of research to achieving development outcomes;
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English;

This is an internationally recruited staff (IRS) position for three years with an attractive and competitive salary and benefits package payable in US dollars.
