The call for abstracts for ACRC targets all themes and is based on a standard abstract (refer to the guideline in the original call) for oral or poster presentation. The abstracts should be not more than 250 words and should be uploaded. Successful applicants are expected to submit extended abstract to be included in the conference proceedings. The conference themes include latest research on climate science of Africa, latest research on the science and projections of future climate change in Africa, evidence for action: climate change risk analysis, delivering resilience in the face of climate change uncertainty, co-production of knowledge between science, business, policy, practice and local communities, information distillation and communication, mobilizing investment in climate and weather services, and cross-cutting issues: water-energy-food-health nexus
Anyone who can submit an abstract in any of the themes listed is most welcomed
Important dates for the conference
- Abstract submission deadline April 28, 2019
- Notification of acceptance of abstract and session submissions May 18, 2019
- Conference registration and grant application open May 21, 2019
- Early registration deadline, and for at least one of the authors of an accepted presentation

There is limited full and partial financial support for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and oral and/or poster presenters. Priority will be given to ECRs and African Presenters.
If your University or organisation is not able to fund your registration, travel and/or accommodation, you can apply for a grant. The application for grant will be online.
